Jake Perry(Writer/Actor)
President, Fringeelement Entertainment
Telling stories is all Jake really knows how to
do (effectively, anyway). And it's a good
thing, since it's also all he's ever wanted to
do. Ever since he was a child, the backs of his
eyelids have served as movie screens,
incessantly playing the films of his
imagination. Those films were what shaped his
life and philosophy. They entertained him and
enlightened him. In 2007 he founded
Fringeelement Entertainment as a means to share
those films, his experience and his vision with
the rest of the world.
A 2003 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh
with a degree in Creative Writing, Jake was
turned on to acting while in college. Seeing it
as just another method by which to tell
stories, he fell in love immediately. He
performed in several plays for the University
and then branched out into the Pittsburgh
theatre scene. In 2003 he moved to Chicago with
an eye on landing film and television work.
Dan Kuhlman(Actor/Writer)
Dan has been working throughout Chicago stage,
film, and improv scene for the past six years.
A veteran of nearly a dozen Chicagoland film
productions, his most notable film credits
include: Backburner Films Feature, "Say Hello
To Clive For Me" and the Sphinx Productions
short, "The Memoirs of Don Walker," which has
received high acclaim at The New York Film and
Video Festival, East Lansing Film Festival, and
IndieFest here in Chicago.
He is currently developing a feature length
script that will enter production during the
next year. His favorite theatre credits
include: Homer Wells in Famous Doors multi-Jeff
Award winning production of "The Cider House
Rules: Parts I and II" Julian in "The
Misanthrope" and Todd in "Far Away" with Next
Theatre, as well as Cougar Glass in "The
Fastest Clock in the Universe" with A Red
Orchid Theatre, all of which were Jeff
Recommended. He is also a veteran of the iO:
Chicago stage, and is a proud graduate of
Carnegie Mellon's School of Drama in Pittsburgh.
Bryce Taylor (Writer/Director)
Bryce was basically a science geek until one afternoon, during his sophomore year of
college, when he went back to his dorm room, sat down, and wrote a short story for no
discernible reason. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a B.A. in English,
he has explored all types of storytelling, including short fiction, poetry (of the type
written in hole-in-the-wall bars), playwriting, screenwriting, filmaking and dance.
Favorite past projects include writing and directing the short films Water, White and
Black and The Invisible, writing and directing the Jackson Pollock bio-play Mural,
executive producing the action spoof Out of Courage 2, and accumulating an extensive
collection of jotted notes and "poems" on cocktail napkins. Currently a resident of
Pittsburgh, he looks forward to helming FE's Being James Dean and launching production
of his latest script, Super.
